Hand Built Pottery Class
Create one-of-a-kind hand built stoneware masterpieces. This is one class with two sessions: Saturday, July 13 for building and learning and July 27 for glazing. Learn coil and slab building. Wide variety of surface decorations available. All materials and equipment provided by instructor. Suitable for beginner or intermediate student. Pick up at the Cooperative at a later date given by instructor at end of last class.

Basket Weaving Class

This simple basket has a classic look. It uses smoked reed for the sides and is built on a wooden base. It is 5” tall and changes from a diameter of 6.5” at the base to a 9” diameter at the top. The half Gretchen rim as shown in the photo is
new to classes at the LRAC. The other rim options are a simple woven round reed rim or a standard flat-oval rim. You will choose your rim style at the class. There will be a number of pretty tie-ons for you to choose from to decorate your basket.
All level students are welcome to the class. The basket shown is an advanced beginner/intermediate basket but beginners are welcome and will be given extra help.

Guided Photo Shoot in Lost River State Park

Guided Photo Shoot in Lost River State Park
West Virginia’s premier landscape photographer, Frank Ceravalo, will lead a class of 10-12 students on an all-day photo shoot into Lost River State Park.
Learn and practice a number of photo techniques including landscape, macro, HDR, and possibly even wildlife. This is an opportunity for photographers at all levels to enhance their skills guided by a true master landscape photographer and experienced teacher.
Students should bring cameras with fully charged batteries, zooms and/or macro equipment along with your operations manual and a tripod. Please bring a bag lunch. Water will be provided. Class will gather at the Lost River Artisans Cooperative building before leaving for the photo shoot.
